3). Never use attitudes and moods to communicate to your husband, you
     never know how your husband will interpret them. Defensive women
     don't have a happy home.(Prov 15v13)

4). Never compare your husband to other men, you've no idea what their life
     is all about. If you attack his Ego, his Love for you will diminish.

5). Never ill treat your husband's friends because you don't like them, the
     person who's supposed to get rid of them is your husband.(Prov 11v22)

6). Never forget that your husband married you, not your maid or anyone
     else. Do your duties.(Gen 2v24)

GETTING THINGS DONE

I recently finished reading Getting Things Done by David Allen. The book has something of a cult following, and for good reason. Prior to reading the book, I was a pile person. You know the, "Yeah, my desk is a mess, but I know where everything is" type. I think I just said that to convince myself. Most people didn't buy that line I was selling. I haven't yet finished the collection process of corralling all of my "stuff" at home, but I have it pretty well complete at the office. It makes a world of difference. My turnaround time on projects is dramatically improved, my desk is clean and organized, everything has a place, and most importantly, my stress level has come down several notches.

Some of the ideas in the book are not new, and in fact, I would call them common sense; however, I never took the time to think about such mundane things as how to organize my files or email folders. Allen suggests putting all files in alphabetical order. It is a small, common sense change, but I can find things I need much faster now than when I organized my files based on my perception of importance. He also suggests adding a few specialty email folders for organization. I had over 800 emails in my inbox, and have now cleaned it out.

Bill Swanson, CEO of Raytheon, compiled his Swanson's Unwritten Rules of Management over the course of decades. The rules are years of real-world experience condensed into what Swanson views as the most important things he has learned. The delivery method for the rules has morphed several times through the years, and is now a 76-page booklet that resonates with many of the most powerful business people in the world. Unfortunately, it is not available to most of the rest of us. Business 2.0 profiled Swanson and the rules in its July 2005 issue (subscription required).

Here are the rules, without Swanson's additional commentary.

1. Learn to say, "I don't know." If used when appropriate, it will be often.
2. It is easier to get into something than it is to get out of it.
3. If you are not criticized, you may not be doing much.

MEND GIVES NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ULTIMATUM.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has given the federal government two weeks to “reach out to ‘Aaron Team Leader’ Odein Ajumogobia to signal government intention to commence dialogue” about quelling agitations in the Niger Delta region.
It said that if after the expiration of the two weeks, there is no action from the federal government, it would “safely assume” that government is truly not sincere about dialogue on the Niger Delta question and will only respond to the threat of violence or industrial action.
MEND was speaking in response to a recent piece titled ‘President Buhari sharpens focus on Niger Delta’, written by Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity.
In the piece, Garba had criticised the Niger Delta Avengers for “killing soldiers and policemen… kidnapping and killing oil company workers… and asking oil companies to stop operations and pack out of the Niger Delta region”.
